Courtney and Jeff booked me for their wedding over Christmas break. It's a good thing they did! I had so many inquiries for their date(April 26th)since then. I met them today for the first time for their engagement shoot. Luckily it wasn't as cold today as it has been for the past week. They just love to cuddle and had no problem doing that when I asked them to. We went to a couple spots that I had my eye on for awhile in Salt Lake. I love the results and they were both so easy to work with. We all had a blast. I'm pretty excited for Courtney's bridals and of course the wedding. It sounds like its going to be a beautiufl event!

Professional prints
I found this photo of my husband recently. We had it printed at Inkley's in Salt Lake a few years ago, and it's been sitting in a drawer. I was curious to see how it compared to prints from the lab I go to now. Can you tell which one is printed at Inkleys and the one printed at a pro lab?

The one on the left was printed at Inkleys. They look a little bright due to my scanner but the colors are exactly like the print. It's really amazing how different they are.
After a photo session, whether it is engagement pictures, bridals, or a whole wedding day, I usually spend more than the time spent shooting going through every photo taken. I touch them up, make sure the colors are correct, and make many adjustments before they end up here or on the proof site. That's why I get your prints where I do, because they end up looking just like they do on my monitor.
We're excited for all the weddings we have booked this year! (Including some great weddings in Wisconsin, California, Arizona, and our nation's capitol.) And to all you June 7th (06/07/08,) and August 8th (08/08/08,) brides, we're already booked=( We can't wait to meet the rest of you wonderful couples to talk about your big day!

Albums
I thought I'd post a blog about some of the album designs I've done. Lets start with Sarah and Adam's wedding. This wedding was one of my favorites in 2007. Not only because La Caille is gorgeous, but the bride and groom were extremely nice and so crazy about each other. They chose a 30 page coffee table book for their album. I found it a little difficult to fit everything that happened on their day into only 30 pages but I pulled it off. One of the things that really blew me away was when Sarah walked down the isle to the song on their slideshow your about to see. It was perfect! Check out their album here

Erika and Ron's wedding was simple and elegant. They were married at the Salt Lake Temple and then had a luncheon instead of a reception at the Little America. I thought a simple 20 page 8x8 flush mount album would be perfect for their wedding. They had the fabulous idea to hire a women to make balloon animals for the kids. It was a huge hit and all the children there were happy as clams the entire time. Click here for their album
Chelsea and Oliver's wedding was in Snow basin. It was a big day with lots of close family and friends. Their reception was one of the craziest(in a good way!) I've ever been to. Everyone was on the dance floor! Both families came together and had a great time like they've known each other for years and years. It was a really great event to witness. They chose a 10x10 40 page coffee table book. I used a few more pages for the ceremony than normal because so many great pictures turned out. I figure the day is about the ceremony so you should have more than just a couple spreads for it. Their album
And lastly here is Julie and Christian's album. The bride and groom are really into the outdoors so its no surprise they chose Log Haven for their event. One of the coolest details about their ceremony was the best man had the rings on a carabiner around his waist(those are used when you rock climb). I thought that was perfect way to include what they love to do into their ceremony. The album

Bridal show!
Thank you to all the brides who came to the Bridal show in Provo yesterday! I had a great time and it was nice meeting all the brides that stopped by my booth. I look forward to hearing from a lot of you soon!
My booth

There is a story behind these flowers. Last month a 3rd grader threw a block of ice on the hood of my 95 Pontiac. We live right by a school playground and we usually have to park right by it. I was home when a police officer notified me of this. I took a look at the damage and I honestly didn't care because our Pontiac is kinda old(my husband and I actually want to drive it off a cliff sometimes). So I said it was OK and that they didn't need to pay for damage. When my husband and I arrived home from vacation we found this by our door with an apology note from the boy who damaged our car. I thought that was so sweet and that it would be perfect for using in the bridal show.
My cards
My brochures which were a huge hit! I had about 50 of them wrapped in ribbon but by the time I took these photos they were all given away. I still had a ton of ribbon left over from the last bridal show I did so I put them to good use.
I had an 11x14 canvas displayed near the front of my booth of one of my favorite bridal photos ever! Everyone got a kick out of it.
Very affordable cute chairs and table from Ikea.
We were able to fit the Ikea chairs, bench, easels, rugs, coffee table, framed photos and banner into our Honda Fit and still had enough space for a passenger. LOVE that car! We put everything else into the Pontiac.

Preethi and Daniel
Preethi and Daniel found me through Becca and Tyler. I'm so excited they chose me for their wedding! They are getting married in the Washington D.C temple and then having an Indian ceremony after. I loved their engagement shoot since I've been away from work for so long. They wanted to go somewhere in the mountains for their engagements. I found a couple cool spots down a hill and brave little Preethi trekked down the snowy hill in her flats! Even after that they were both still in good spirits. You can totally tell Daniel is just plum crazy about Preethi. They were so happy despite the chilly weather. I just love them!
I can't wait for Preethi's bridals that we're shooting a couple days before the wedding in D.C!

Becca and Tyler
Well my car was finished earlier than expected so I am home in Utah! I'm so excited to post pictures of Becca and Tyler's wedding. Thank you Becca and Tyler for being so patient. I'm sure you've been dying to see these!
Their day couldn't have been more perfect! The sun was shining but it was still bitterly cold outside the temple. We had to go into the visitors center a couple times to warm up during their portraits. At their luncheon they had good food and lots of toast's by their family members and friends. Becca surprised Tyler by singing a song she had someone write for her to sing to him. It was really touching to see his reaction. Becca is a beautiful singer and totally blew me away by her amazing talent.
After the luncheon my husband and I immediately started driving to Las Vegas for their reception at a stake center. This wasn't your typical stake center reception though! Becca had the whole gym decorated so beautifully in a Christmas theme. The dance floor was made to look like a skating rink with benches that had blankets and skates hanging from them. Christmas trees, nutcrackers, lights and mistletoe were everywhere. As you entered there was a huge Christmas tree that had little nutcracker ornaments for the guests to take home. What a neat idea! Becca's dad even made a fireplace for the entrance. They served all kinds of soup and yummy treats for their guests to eat while Christmas music played in the background. I could probably go on and on about all the details! It was all very well thought out and it turned out so wonderful!
Becca and Tyler's first dance was to "I'll be home for Christmas" which was so perfect for them. They spent most of their engagement apart with Becca in Utah and Tyler in Philadelphia. They both have wonderful family and friends that were so warm and kind to me. This was my last wedding of 2007 and it was my favorite!

This one is for Becca!

Car update
It looks like we'll be here until the 15th of January. We'll probably make it home around the 18th if the weather is good. My parents are thrilled that I get to stay longer but I'm really longing to get back to work! :)
Thanks to all my clients and future clients for being so patient. I have a lot of weddings to work on when I get back, along with photo orders and albums. I will be one busy bee when I get home and I'm actually happy about it!
