Courtney and Tyler

I love how great Courtney and Tyler's engagements turned out. They came up from Alpine to let me try out some new locations I had wanted to use in Salt Lake. They are an incredibly cute couple and Tyler was constantly making Courtney (and me!) laugh. Courtney is a photographer herself so it was cool talking about photography with her. I used my Holga for the first time on their shoot but those photos will have to wait until I get them developed!

How I roll

Photo featured on California hotel ad

The wedding coordinator from the Desert Springs JW Marriott in California is friends with one of my brides, Sarah, whose wedding was in August. The wedding coordinator loved the photos and wanted to use one of Sarah's bridals in their wedding ad. I love the photo they ended up using. It's one of my favorites of Sarah.

Got some film developed recently

Last year I bought a cool camera called the Fisheye 2 Camera. I used it mostly in the spring and then kindof forgot about it. I recently found a roll of film that I hadn't developed yet. These were from Brittney's Bridals and Ellie and Steven's engagements back in April and May. I can't believe I didn't get the film developed until now! These are a few of the ones that I thought looked interesting.

I definitely will be using this camera more often. I also just purchased a Holga camera that I'm so stoked to try out. I've always loved the look of Holga. For all you clients that have upcoming photo shoots, I will most likely use both of these camera's for your session.

Courtney and Jeff

Courtney and Jeff booked me for their wedding over Christmas break. It's a good thing they did! I had so many inquiries for their date(April 26th)since then. I met them today for the first time for their engagement shoot. Luckily it wasn't as cold today as it has been for the past week. They just love to cuddle and had no problem doing that when I asked them to. We went to a couple spots that I had my eye on for awhile in Salt Lake. I love the results and they were both so easy to work with. We all had a blast. I'm pretty excited for Courtney's bridals and of course the wedding. It sounds like its going to be a beautiufl event!

Professional prints

I found this photo of my husband recently. We had it printed at Inkley's in Salt Lake a few years ago, and it's been sitting in a drawer. I was curious to see how it compared to prints from the lab I go to now. Can you tell which one is printed at Inkleys and the one printed at a pro lab?

The one on the left was printed at Inkleys. They look a little bright due to my scanner but the colors are exactly like the print. It's really amazing how different they are.

After a photo session, whether it is engagement pictures, bridals, or a whole wedding day, I usually spend more than the time spent shooting going through every photo taken. I touch them up, make sure the colors are correct, and make many adjustments before they end up here or on the proof site. That's why I get your prints where I do, because they end up looking just like they do on my monitor.

We're excited for all the weddings we have booked this year! (Including some great weddings in Wisconsin, California, Arizona, and our nation's capitol.) And to all you June 7th (06/07/08,) and August 8th (08/08/08,) brides, we're already booked=( We can't wait to meet the rest of you wonderful couples to talk about your big day!

Albums

I thought I'd post a blog about some of the album designs I've done. Lets start with Sarah and Adam's wedding. This wedding was one of my favorites in 2007. Not only because La Caille is gorgeous, but the bride and groom were extremely nice and so crazy about each other. They chose a 30 page coffee table book for their album. I found it a little difficult to fit everything that happened on their day into only 30 pages but I pulled it off. One of the things that really blew me away was when Sarah walked down the isle to the song on their slideshow your about to see. It was perfect! Check out their album here

Erika and Ron's wedding was simple and elegant. They were married at the Salt Lake Temple and then had a luncheon instead of a reception at the Little America. I thought a simple 20 page 8x8 flush mount album would be perfect for their wedding. They had the fabulous idea to hire a women to make balloon animals for the kids. It was a huge hit and all the children there were happy as clams the entire time. Click here for their album

Chelsea and Oliver's wedding was in Snow basin. It was a big day with lots of close family and friends. Their reception was one of the craziest(in a good way!) I've ever been to. Everyone was on the dance floor! Both families came together and had a great time like they've known each other for years and years. It was a really great event to witness. They chose a 10x10 40 page coffee table book. I used a few more pages for the ceremony than normal because so many great pictures turned out. I figure the day is about the ceremony so you should have more than just a couple spreads for it. Their album

And lastly here is Julie and Christian's album. The bride and groom are really into the outdoors so its no surprise they chose Log Haven for their event. One of the coolest details about their ceremony was the best man had the rings on a carabiner around his waist(those are used when you rock climb). I thought that was perfect way to include what they love to do into their ceremony. The album
