Happy New Year!

Well I had a wonderful Christmas back home in Wisconsin. Despite the bad weather, everyone made it safely to my parents house for our Christmas Eve get-together. Jonathan and I had to spend Christmas apart due to job related reasons. But we will never spend Christmas apart again. That was tough!

As a tradition, my mom makes her famous chili every year on Christmas Eve(it was originally her dad's recipe). I wanted to make something too and decided to make everyone Avocado Egg Rolls. Everyone seemed a little uneasy about trying my egg rolls but they were devoured in seconds! So, now I have to make those every Christmas Eve :) Click here for the recipe I found online.

Here are some photos from the fun evening. Don't mind the bad flash photos. I didn't feel like using my big SB800 so I just used the on camera flash.

Our Christmas tree. I'm convinced my parents' tree is the most beautiful.

Lily guarding the presents. She loves Christmas!

This ornament is my "Baby's first Christmas" ornament.

My parents still have an ornament I made in Kindergarten.

My dad dressed up as Santa for my nephew Will and made a surprise visit to our house.

Jonathan gave my brother Jayce a pack of mustaches for Christmas(which Jayce loved! If you know Jayce, you know that it was a good gift for him). We all put one on and posed for a picture. I have one that kinda looks like Hitler's mustache. Nice. Tyler used one as a unibrow.

On Christmas day I did a mini photo shoot with my nephew Desi. We just took him in my parents bedroom(which had the best lighting ever!) and he was the perfect subject. He's such a happy baby.

Have a happy New Year! I'll post again in 2009.

Have a fabulous Christmas!

I'm heading off to Wisconsin tomorrow to visit family for Christmas. I will be gone from the 22nd through the 28th. I can be reached best by email annapage at annapagephotgraphy dot com.

I wanted to get my work all caught up before I leave to Wisconsin for Christmas and since I have, I kinda feel like dancing. Like Hugh Grant in this video.

My moves are slightly less dorky, but you get the idea! :) I just love the movie Love Actually. It's one of my favorite holiday movies. I've been listening to the soundtrack for weeks.

I just recently shot my last wedding of 2008. Looking back over this year, I've accomplished so much more than I thought and I really want to thank all my 2008 clients for a great year. Seriously, you all have been wonderful to work with.

I'm very much looking forward to the 2009 wedding season!

Merry Christmas!

Ice skating

My husband Jonathan and I went ice skating together for the first time. I had always wanted to go to an outdoor ice skating rink. We found one right in the middle of downtown Salt Lake. It was perfect with all the Christmas lights everywhere. I'm proud to say that I didn't fall once while skating :)

December is absolutely my favorite month of the year(except of course June, my birthday month). It was so cute watching couples(some of them I can tell were on their first date or something) skating together and keeping each other from falling. One of them even fell ON each other and it seriously looked like a scene out of a romantic comedy. So, so cute. I love winter. Go ice skating if you get the chance!

We asked a random stranger to take our picture by these lights. The guy was dazzled by my "big camera" and thought it was so cool that he got to use it for a minute. He did good!

Bethany and Casey

Bethany is another photographer here in Utah. She is super talented and such a sweet person. She really wanted some photos of her and her husband Casey for their 3 year anniversary. I'm always a little nervous taking pictures of other photographers but I get over it once I remember how easy it is to work with a photographer since they know how to pose very well. We had lots of fun taking pictures and talking about almost everything(I think we did more talking than shooting!). I was so glad it had snowed so much before we did their shoot. Everything is just gorgeous in the winter with snow. I love how their images turned out and I hope to see them soon again! :) Happy anniversary!

Had to get a few of Bethany.

Preethi and Daniel Wedding published

I was so excited when I got my copy of Latter Day Bride magazine in the mail. They featured Preethi and Daniel's Wedding photos and had a little article about how they got engaged. I remember hearing about the proposal but not in so much detail so it was very interesting to read.

I had a blast looking at all the other beautiful photographs. If you're planning a wedding, pick up the latest Latter day Bride magazine for some great ideas.

Rebecca and Greg Wedding

There is something about winter weddings that I love. I don't know if its all the white fluffy snow that makes everything look beautiful or the fact that the bride and groom have to snuggle all the time during pictures to keep warm. Rebecca and Greg were a wonderful couple to work with. Even when they were freezing during their portraits they were just so happy and had good spirits the whole day. By the time we shot their pictures the sun was setting quickly and we managed to get quite a few breathtaking shots of the view.

This was our last wedding of 2008 and this wedding was the perfect ending to our fabulous year!
