Danny

A few weeks ago my husband and I decided to find out what kind of dog Danny really is. For those of you who don't know, we have three dogs. We adopted Danny last year in April and have two miniature dachshunds, Dinah and Bill. We always thought Danny was a bassett hound/rottweiler mix. Every time we go out and walk him, everyone that see's him thinks he's the cutest thing ever and ask confusingly what kind of dog he is. Everybody assumed he was part bassett hound(because he is short and long and has droopy jowls) and rottweiler(for the coloring).

We found Mule Hollow, a breed I.D test and sent in Danny's saliva swabs. A few weeks later, we got our results in the mail.

Danny is part Bassett Hound(we were right on that one), part Parson Russell Terrier and part Miniature Pinscher. He is not a rottweiler after all! We were totally surprised!

From the other information we were given, it seems like either Danny's mom or dad was a Parson Russell Terrier/Min Pin mix and the other parent was a Bassett Hound.

We are so glad we know exactly what our little "galoot" is. I'm also thrilled I don't have to tell people he is part Rottweiler because other people assume(I don't assume Rottweiler's are aggresive just because of their breed, FYI) he might be aggressive which is totally not Danny at all. Danny does not bite, ever! Even if we gave him a huge chunk of raw meat to him and took it back he would not bite or even growl at us. That's how sweet he is. I'm seriously surprised he wasn't adopted sooner.

If you own a mut and don't know exactly what kind of mix they are, visit www.mulehollow.com for more info.
