Happy birthday, Rinta!

I have the coolest neighbors ever. When they first moved in below us they came and knocked on our door to meet us. They also were so kind to give us these really yummy chocolates as a gift. It was perfect because, well, I would die for chocolate! I was blown away. I've never had neighbors so nice. As a gift in return I offered a photo shoot. The timing was perfect because today was their 1 year old son, Rinta's birthday. He is just the cutest little boy, ever! We just decided to take some candids in the house and take some shots outside and around the apartment complex. I love where we live because its so photogenic.

A day at the humane society

My husband and I thought it would be neat to volunteer at the Humane Society and take pictures of the animals there. I am a huge dog lover so I thought this was perfect. I figure maybe adoptions will come more often if they see a nice photo of the cats and dogs. I gotta tell ya, taking pictures of dogs is really hard. All they wanted to do was play and walk because their in cages all day. But I didn't give up until I got a nice one of each one. I'm so glad my husband came along and the fact that he is good with dogs(he watches Cesar Milan's "The Dog Whisperer" all the time). They were all so sweet but they really needed a good walk. Today we were only able to get most of the dogs there. Next time we'll get the rest of them and all the cats.

January 20th is a special day for us!

Jonathan and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary yesterday. It's very odd because it feels like we just got married last month!

On our wedding day 2 years ago. Photo taken by my mother in law I think.

My dad snuck a snapshot of us as we were getting our picture taken by our photographer.

The day was chilly and hazy. I actually didn't mind the haziness that much because my eyes are so sensitive to sunlight so I would have been squinting in the pictures if the sun was out. I decided to not have a cape. I pretty much regretted that decision when we were getting our pictures taken in 30 degree weather. But I survived!

On our 1 year anniversary. We absolutely loooove The Melting Pot in Salt Lake City. Their cheese fondue is to die for and the white chocolate dessert is what we get every time because its just delectable(ha, I've always wanted to say that word!). As you can see I have blond hair in the pic.

We decided to keep our top layer cake to eat on our 1 year anniversary. It was surprisingly really good! Our frosting was so thick that it kept the cake fresh. I didn't touch the frosting though, yuck.

This is us on our 2 year anniversary. We went the the Melting Pot again and as fate would have it we ended up in the same exact booth as we did a year ago! Weird! I have brown hair now. Do you think I'll have blond next year? We'll see :)

Baby Liam

While home for thanksgiving I had the oppurtunity to see one of my dearest friends Jen. I got to meet her husband Aaron and of course their new bundle of joy, Liam. I had been following her updates on her pregnancy from the beginning and it was so weird to finally meet their baby! I was surprised that Liam didn't fuss when he had just his diaper on. A photographers dream baby! I had so much fun because I just adore babies(and want one myself, ha!).

There were a lot of cute shots but these are my favorites!

Cute

Ok, so I went to Petsmart and saw these really cute winter hats for dogs. They had a blue and pink one perfect for my little Dinah and Bill. I had to have them and bought them! Now I'm sure the dogs aren't as thrilled about them as me(as you can tell in the photos below!) but gosh don't they look adorable?!

Dinah looking embarrassed :)

Bill looking...well like he usually does.

Isn't it romantic?

Yesterday was Kirsten and Jerimiah's wedding at the Memorial House in Salt Lake City. It was a wonderful experience to photograph their special day. It was a small, intimate wedding with just close family and friends. Everyone was so supportive of them and were all so nice to be around with. And the flowers! I just have to say I love the flowers she picked out from Whimsy Floral. Absolutely gorgeous! I had never seen the Memorial House at night, only photographed during the day there before and, wow! Stunning place to hold your wedding! I loved it! Here's a peek at the photos and don't forget the slideshow!

Jonathan

My husband, Jonathan finally after a year recieved his new Warr guitar in the mail last Friday. It is a mix of a guitar and a "Chapman Stick". A Chapman stick is a tapping instrument. He used to have one, but sold it to get a custom made guitar that he has now. He's pretty crazy about it, so I thought what better to do than to get your picture taken with it! We had a blast going all around Salt Lake yesterday to the locations I wanted to try out.
